ドイツの木工作家 Franz Keilhofer がつくる、ドライフラワーのための細身の花器。一輪、数本の枝や草花をすっと立てて、暮らしの中に静かな居場所をつくります。木目・色味は一点ごとに異なり、写真の作品がそのままお手元に届きます。

円筒形の花器は、乾燥前の生木（グリーンウッド）から挽きます。丸太のなかに特別な木片を見つけると、封をして冷凍庫で保管し、作業の日まで新鮮さを保ちます。他の作品と違い、外側より先に内側を仕上げます。乾燥するにつれて木は縮み、曲がり、歪み、ひとつとして同じもののない有機的な形が生まれます。水分が抜けたら底を切り整えて安定して立つようにし、必要に応じて銅のステープルや黒檀の細い帯を用いて、保護オイルで仕上げます。

その木が生えていた場所の座標を記した解説カードをお付けします（QRコードからGoogleマップで位置を確認できます）。ドライフラワー専用です。木の素材のため、水は入れないでください。直射日光・急な乾燥もお避けください。

この円筒形の花器は、生木から挽くもので、ここ数年で最も人気のあるデザインのひとつです。私にとっては、技術的な挑戦と「自然のなすがままに任せること」が、ちょうどよく混ざり合った形です。

A slender vase for dried flowers by German woodturner Franz Keilhofer. Stand a single stem or a few branches in it and let it quietly become part of your everyday space. Grain and colour differ from piece to piece, and the exact piece shown in the photos is the one you will receive.

The cylindrical vases are turned from green (unseasoned) wood. When Franz finds a special piece in a log, he seals it and keeps it in the freezer so it stays fresh until he is ready to work. Unlike his other pieces, the inside is finished before the outside. As the wood dries it shrinks, bends and warps, creating an organic shape that is never the same twice. Once dry, the base is trimmed so the vase stands steadily, copper staples or thin strips of ebony are used where needed, and a protective oil is applied.

A card with the coordinates of the place where the tree grew is included; scan its QR code to see the location on Google Maps. This vase is for dried flowers only. As it is made of wood, please do not put water in it, and avoid direct sunlight and sudden drying.
